Moving with a Pet

If you’re moving to Singapore with a pet (typically a dog, cat or small mammal such as a rabbit or hamster), ensure that the breed you have is allowed in Singapore. The Agri-Food and Veterinary Association of Singapore (www.ava.gov.sg) has strict laws on the countries that the animals are travelling from, to guage the risk of rabies they may be carrying, and thus different countries have different criteria that need to be met before your pet can enter Singapore. Animals from certain countries with a high risk of rabies are required to be quarantined at the Sembawang Animal Quarantine Station (SAQS) upon their arrival in Singapore, while those from countries with zero to negligible risk of rabies are exempt from undergoing quarantine.

Please note that you must reserve quarantine space at least 3 months before your pet's anticipated arrival into Singapore through the Quarantine Management System - https://qms.ava.gov.sg/Public/Login.aspx
